1 - You are a beginner drone pilot)
The Mini 3 Pro is still a great option for beginners, even though its price has gone up compared to previous Mavic Mini models. It is even safer and simpler to fly than the Mini 2, thanks to its diminutive size, light weight that complies with regulations, and new obstacle avoidance system.
2 - Other camera gear is more important than your drone)
On location, many outdoor photographers and videographers carry a lot of gear, making it difficult to carry a larger and heavier drone. In this circumstance, the Mini 3 Pro is an excellent choice due to its professional video capabilities, lightweight, and excellent image quality.
3 - You want superb low-light performance)
The Mini 3 Pro is a great option if you frequently shoot stills or video in low light due to its fast f/1.7 aperture and excellent high-ISO noise handling. You can shoot with confidence at any ISO setting because the quality of the images is so good even at ISO 3200.
1 - You need the best possible image quality)
The DJI Mavic 3 and its Four Thirds sensor are exactly what you need if you want the best image quality currently offered by a portable folding drone. Although it is significantly heavier than the Mini 3 Pro at just under 900 grams, the image quality is significantly superior.
2 - DJI Mavic Air 2 is already yours)
The Mini 3 Pro has a larger sensor than the Mavic Air 2, and it can take portrait photos. However, you might not find the upgrade to be worthwhile. Despite a few flaws, the Air 2 remains a highly capable drone that can still compete with the Mini 3 Pro.
3 - An Autel Evo Nano+ is yours)
The Autel Evo Nano+ and the DJI Mini 3 Pro are both drones in the sub-250g category with very similar specifications, features, and functionality. The Mini 3 won't offer much more than what you already have if you already have a Nano+, which came out in the beginning of 2022.
